Finnegan's Dream is a text-sound piece made from a recording of James Joyce reading a chapter from Finnegan's Wake. As Joyce reads, pitch and time domain-spectral transformations are employed to alter the timbral content of his voice, eventually resulting in a sort of spectral resonator driven by the voice. Techniques used to realize the piece include spectral scaling, shifting, inversion, gating, and feedback of delayed spectral data.

FFT patch
Signal processing for this piece was implemented in MaxMSP. Below is a screenshot of the pfft~ patch.
